IN THIS LESSON

Behaviour is communication.

Behaviours are driven by underlying emotions.

We can always count on our dogs to do one thing - behave.

Whether that behaviour is compatible with our human lifestyle is the question.

They feel an emotion - excitement, anxiety, fear, frustration, or calmness and they choose a behaviour out of that emotional “box” of behaviours. What they pull out of that box might be jumping, pulling, barking, spinning, zooming, humping and so on.

For many dogs, they choose jumping up.

Yes, we want to train them a more appropriate behaviour to display, but before we do that we want to the support them emotionally.
